TK1 Folding Electric Trike

Love my trike. Just enough power for this nearly 71 y/o lady. It’s loads of fun at home and at the beach.

We purchased a beautiful orange tricycle a few weeks ago and could not be happier with it. Easy to put together and my wife is absolutely in love with the ride. Especially at night great front light and especially good rear lights for visibility. Mid evening rides for dessert have been an added activity.

We had three issues to address before I could start enjoying my TK1.
1. The Folding latch was damaged in shipping and could not be used. We worked in customer support and was sent a new latch. There is a guy name Gary that monitors the support tickets and sent us a video on how to work the latch just in case the latch was not really damaged, just to have a visual of how the latch works. The latch was actually damaged and the worked great after my husband replaced the damaged latch.
2. Gary usually responded within a 5-30 minutes when Mooncool took over 24 hours to respond. Gary made troubleshoot so much easier and he truly cares about people frustrated in the beginning. Gary - thanks again for all your help. My husband told me 4+ times to send the bike back, but I am a little more patient then he has. I am very happy with the bike now that everything is working as expected and I am the envy of the neighborhood. Everyone tells me - "Cool Bike".
3. The next issue to connecting the headlight cable to the headlight. We had trouble lining it up. Gary once again send a video to show how to line up the connectors. It wasn't until I noticed the marking on both ends of the cable that we were able to align the cable and they went into place so easily.
4. Once I saw able to start riding the bike and after about 20 miles I was hearing the loud popping sound coming from the back right tire. I sounded like popcorn popping. I made an audio recording of the sound and sent it both the support and Gary and either party could tell me how to fix the issue. Finally support told me to take the e-trike to a local bike shop and have it looked at and they could pay for the cost to have the issue fixed.
a. The bike shop told me it was the wheel bearings in the back wheel came loose. So the bike shop checked the wheel bearing on all tires and completed a safety check. It fixed the issue. I send the Bike Shop repair receipt back to support and they refunded me the amount of the repair with a day or two. No questions asked.
b. The wheel bearing were good for several miles and then one wheel starting making a lesser popping sound again after about 20 miles and I ask my husband to check the wheel bearing again and he tightened just a small amount and it corrected the issue again. I've put on over 150 miles since those wheel bearing adjustments and we have not had any further issues with the wheel bearings.
My suggestions after putting on 230 miles in 2 months - on the TK1 are:
1. The TK1 has a key to lock the battery to the frame of the bike. What I would like to see is another key added to prevent someone from turning it on or riding the trike without a key. Kind of like a motorcycle has. The way it is now I worry about if I leave the trike for just one second without a chain lock it would be gone in seconds - stolen. Even a quick trip to use the restroom, it could be stolen in seconds.
2. Need electronic turn signals on front of bike. Having all the electronic signal on the back of the bike is very helpful for anything behind you. There are 3 Tail Light, Brake Highlight Function & Turn Signals Function
3. I am a little concerned that the re-charge process takes about 8-9 hours to charge fully. This is when the battery is completed drain down to zero. I plan to report this to [****]
4. Baskets need to have a bottom to them instead of just the metal frame. My husband added a piece of White Plexiglas under the basket so that there is more of a base to the baskets. I've seen videos where other added a piece of think work inside the basket and used the metal basket screws to hold everything in place.
Accessories that came with the bike were:
5. Back basket net - keep things in back basket secure.
6. Water bottle holder
Accessories (shop around - cheaper on other sites like Amazon, etc) I added
1. Helmet - matching color
2. Sunglasses
1. Long 10 foot bike chain - need to weave through bike due to quick release features on some parts.
2. Bike cover in case of rain while biking and to cover bike in garage in winter months
3. Cooler to carry supplies, tools. I use a soft cooler to store battery charger, cover, jacket, battery key, tools, etc.
4. Mirror on left side of bike
5. Phone holder on center handle bar. I listen to music while I ride. :)
6. The bike came with a back basket net and water bottle holder - which I also use.

Size wise:
• 1 am a 67 year old female - 5'6" and weight about 140. It took a few tweaks to the seat and handlebar height to get to the proper fit.

As the other reviews have stated the TK1 is excellent .Customer service leaves something to be desired. Their return email started by saying they were so excited to hear from me.I had asked them about the settings on the fork as i saw no movement at all.Their response :It was set at the factory no adjustment needed ,have a nice day. I set it to unlock and the softest preload andhave yet to see that suspension move. The fender installation would be made easier with a longer allen wrench that would fit thru the spokes instead of the multi tool. It could also use a way to lock the trike.I use a cable lock [front tire to frame] Away to lock the electronic or mechanical would be a nice feature. Things I have added ,mirrors , thumb throttle assist , and phone holder.Noticed one review did not receive a cover.I'm in the same boat.Enough nitpicking. I have ridden motorcycles for 65 years and age dictates a change. The TK1 is atransition that keeps you riding.

Received trike in one weeks time. No damage, extremely easy to put together. Easy to ride, built in horn, turn signals. 150 miles in 10 days, rode like a dream. This is my third trike, best one by far.
